One person is in custody, another person was hit by a police cruiser and a SWAT standoff is underway in Dayton after a person shot at an undercover officer.

Dayton Police Department Chief Kamran Afzal said that at about 2:22 p.m., an officer in an unmarked police vehicle got behind a suspicious vehicle near Guthrie and River roads.

Afzal said that they found that the vehicle was reported stolen.

One of the people in the car shot at the officer, the chief said, leading to a pursuit that eventually ended in the 1700 block of South Gettysburg Road.

During the pursuit, he said, one police cruiser hit a pedestrian near S. Euclid Avenue and Germantown Street.

The officer was not injured, Afzal said, but the pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The chief added that one person was arrested at the scene on South Gettysburg Avenue.
